Dr Balamuralikrishna

“Music always has been an important part of my life. I admire Dr Balamuralikrishna for his originality; he amazes me every time I listen to him. I also admire TR Subramaniam’s creativity. Ghulam Ali, Ilayaraja, Chick Corea, Bobby McFerrin are some of my other favourites. They showed the world what the human voice is capable of.”

HS Venugopal

“My father is my inspiration. I hope to have the same energy that he has at his age. He has also been a role model not only in music but also in everyday life. His views on life inspire me.”

“I love travelling. I consider myself lucky as my work takes me to places. Sardinia in Italy is a place I would like to revisit. The best thing about the place is its historical
documentation; it has a history that goes beyond 2,000 years. Also, it is not much crowded, and it feels like a different world altogether. Back in India, I like Goa; the
food, the people and again the history, attracts me.”

“Although I am open to all kinds of food, my favourite cuisine is South Indian. Homemade ‘anna-saaru’ is my favourite. I like exploring the unusual flavours. I recently tried ‘chocolate ice cream with passion fruit’ in Frankfurt and fell in love with it.”

Harry Potter

“I have been a fan of Harry Potter since childhood. Paulo Coelho is another author I enjoy reading. His ‘Veronika Decides to Die’ is my current read. I am also a huge fan of Dan Brown. Coming to Kannada, I like SL Bhyrappa’s books.”

The Bucket List

“I like a lot of films so it gets a little difficult to pick one. Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, Jack Nicholson, Rowan Atkinson count as my favourite actors; they actually don’t act, they just be. The movies ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’, ‘The Bucket List’ and ‘The Reader’... all of them are distinct in their own ways.”
