JOIN US‘iMind’ was jointly organised by the departments of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, MSRIT.
BMS College of Engineering won the first place and a prize money of Rs 30,000. National Public School came second and won a cash prize of Rs 20,000.
The MSRIT team was the runner-up winning a prize money of Rs 10,000. The event saw the participation of 150 teams from various science and engineering colleges across
Karnataka.
Each team consisted of two students. The objective of the event was basically to create awareness about the applications of basic science and technology and encourage students to take up research work.
This time, the quiz was conducted by renowned quizmaster Ajay Antony, who is a Guinness record holder for conducting the largest quiz in the world ever.
An array of prizes were given to the participants and the audience.The chief executive
of Gokula Education Foundation (Engineering), S M Acharya, was the chief guest of the inauguration function.
The principal, K S Rajanandam and G K Ramaiah, Registrar (Academic) also graced the occasion.
On this occasion S M Acharya, CEO; K S Rajanandam, Principal; and G K Ramaiah, Registrar Academic, said they were extremely happy about the progress of the science departments of the college.
They also expressed that the departments are not only active in their academic work but also in their research activities. They also wished good luck to all the participants
in their inaugural address.
V Ramachandra Murthy, K Venkatesh and D N Rao, the head of the departments of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry respectively, said, “We are extremely happy to have conducted a science quiz event on a such a large scale.”
