'Upendra is an institution in himself'

Pranitha Subash has never had it so good. Her film Brahma opposite Upendra has released and her Telugu film Pandavapuram 2014 has also released around the same time. Pranitha is thrilled because she has been receiving positive reviews for her role in both projects.

Talking about her character in Brahma, Pranitha says that she plays an NRI girl. “More than the story, it is the screenplay and the underlying message that stand out. The movie has all the trappings of a Upendra film. It is loud, colourful and the actions are as exaggerated as they can get,” says Pranitha. She didn’t have to do any extra homework for her character which she says is quite like how she is in real life.

This is also the first time that she has paired opposite Upendra. About her experience, she says, “Upendra is an institution in himself. He’s well-versed in direction, acting and production and you learn a lot when you work with a person like him. He is a mass hero and has lived up to the expectations in every sense of the term,” feels Pranitha.

Talking more about Upendra, Pranitha says, “He gets his dialogues right in a single take. I haven’t really come across any other actor who can remember and deliver the dialogues in a single shot. Such is Upendra’s commitment to the craft of acting.”
There’s a lot of hype that has been created around the film. Pranitha feels, “The expectations are high and that thought is a little scary. I hope the film is well-received.”  Pranitha had kept aside a lot of time for the promotions of Brahma and hadn’t committed to any other project. “I was busy with the promotions of the film. Kannada film industry doesn’t reach out to the audiences to promote a film like the way Bollywood or any other language industries people do. But for this film, director Chandru went out of his way to reach out to the people,” she notes.
Pranitha is also wallowing in the success of her Telugu film, which is multi-starrer with Raveena Tandon, Hansika and Vishnu Manchu in the lead roles. “I’ve worked in multi-starrers before but this one was special because I ended up making some good friends and we got a lot of time to bond with each other,” she sums up.
