35 sacks of BJP publicity materials seized

A flying squad team has seized 35 sacks of publicity materials of the BJP along with a transporting vehicle at Surmi square during a check.

The vehicle's driver and his assistant have been taken into custody and are being questioned.

According to the driver, the materials mainly consist of caps, scarfs, t-shirts, banners, bags, among other things, that have the BJP symbol on them.

They were being taken from the BJP's Baikunthpur office to its Chirmiri office. After the seizure, the vehicles and the materials were moved to City Kotwali, Baikunthpur.

Flying squad in-charge A M Phulkar said the seizure was made during the intervening midnight of Monday and Tuesday by the Chirmiri and Baikuntpur teams during a check.

The driver was not carrying any documents related to the materials.
