AAP pitches for alliance with Cong, JJP in Haryana

With no sight of an alliance in Delhi, AAP's Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday suggested a formula to invite the Congress into a coalition in Haryana along with the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), a break-away faction of the INLD-led by Ajay Chautala.

However, the JJP rejected the AAP's suggestion, saying it cannot align with the Congress even as Kejriwal insisted that the combine could defeat the BJP hands down.

"Let's come together in Haryana to defeat the BJP," Kejriwal said but soon after JJP issued a statement, saying it can "never have any truck" with the Congress.

"The JJP has been formed on the ideology of the late Choudhary Devi Lal, who has always fought against the Congress, so the JJP will never enter into any alliance with the Congress and will not be part of any alliance which includes the Congress," JJP national general secretary K C Bangar said.

The JJP can enter into an alliance with only like-minded parties whereas the ideology of the Congress does not match with its views, he said.

The AAP had supported the JJP in the recent bypolls in Haryana.

While he pitched for Haryana, Kejriwal said that there will be no alliance with the Congress in Delhi.
