BJP national president Amit Shah has postponed his August 22 visit to Chhattisgarh owing to the seven-day national mourning following the demise of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee— the last day of the mourning falls on August 22.

The new date is yet to be finalised, party sources said.

As per reports, Shah was expected to visit Raipur and a series of programmes were chalked out: He was to inaugurate a new Auditorium in the Kushabhau Thakre premises, BJP’s state headquarters, and address a gathering of party leaders.

Shah during his visit was also expected to chair meetings of state executive body, MPs, legislators, civic bodies' office bearers and senior leaders.
