JOIN USAnother BJP legislator has been accused of raping his maid's daughter in Uttar Pradesh's Badayun district, about 300 km from Lucknow.
This comes after BJP MLA Kuldeep Senger was arrested for raping a minor and getting her father killed.
The victim has lodged a complaint and an investigation has been launched, sources in the police said.
The victim has alleged that Kushagra Sagar, the BJP MLA from Bisauli Assembly constituency, had been raping her for the past two years on the pretext of marrying her.
"His (Kushagra) father Yogendra Sagar (ex-MLA) had assured me that he would get his son married with me the day I become an adult when his son raped me for the first time," the victim said in her complaint.
She said that Kushagra's marriage had been fixed with some other girl. "He is getting married on June 17... I will not let that happen...I shall commit suicide if he does not marry me," the victim said.
The girl also said that the MLA had offered to settle the matter for Rs 20 lakh but she refused. "My life is ruined...I have nowhere to go now," she said.
Sources said that the victim's mother used to work as a maid at the Sagars' residence in Badayun. "The victim used to go there with her mother occasionally," the police said.
A senior district police officer said in Badayun that a complaint had been received against the MLA and a probe had been launched.
"We will take action after the investigation is over," the officer said.
Senger is already in jail after being arrested by the CBI on charges of raping a minor.
The MLA was also accused of getting his goons to thrash the victim's father, who later succumbed to injuries.
