Activist-advocate Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday filed an RTI plea in the Supreme Court seeking a copy of the administrative order setting up a five-judge constitution bench to hear the impeachment case against Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.

In his RTI application, Bhushan sought information from the central public information officer of the Supreme Court pertaining to listing of the case before a five-judge constitution bench and also who passed the administrative order.

"Was writ petition of Pratap Singh Bajwa and another vs Chairman, Rajya Sabha and another listed on May 8 before a constitution bench by way of an administrative order? If yes, who passed the order above mentioned," the RTI application filed by Bhushan sought to know.

He sought a copy of the order as well as permission to inspect the file along with any file noting concerning the said order. The five-judge bench presided over by Justice A K Sikri on Tuesday treated “dismissed as withdrawn” the petition filed by two MPs - Pratap Singh Bajwa and Amee Harshadray Yajnik against Rajya Sabha chairman's rejection of impeachment notice on April 23.
