Last Updated 14 December 2018, 20:02 IST

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Friday said the cabinet expansion will take place if Congress agrees for the exercise.

Kumaraswamy, who was in New Delhi to meet Union ministers to discuss state pending issues, told reporters that there is an opinion among many leaders that cabinet has to be expanded. But now Congress has to decide whom to induct, he said.

"I will try to meet Congress president Rahul Gandhi today or tomorrow and will decide according to his decision on expansion of cabinet," Kumaraswamy said.

Kumaraswamy said the state government has not fixed a deadline for farmers to submit their crop loan details to avail loan waiver facility. Though the state government has not set any deadline, farmers can submit the details of their loan in an application available at hobli level office of revenue department across the state at the earliest, he said.

These applications are being collected from farmers to waive off their loan at the earliest.

Kumaraswamy also said during his meeting with Union Road transport and Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari he requested the Minister to notify the Mahadayi Water Dispute Tribunal award. " Gadkari promised me to consider our request," the Kumaraswamy said.
