Chandrababu Naidu is a mental case: KCR

Telangana caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday intensified attack on his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu and called the TDP chief a "mental case".

“Naidu says he has built Hyderabad. Then what the Nizams were doing. Is Naidu and Nizam who built Hyderabad city born at the same time 400 years ago,” KCR asked while addressing an election campaign at Parigi in Vikarabad district.

“Quli Qutb Shah, who founded Hyderabad, would be turning in his grave after hearing what Naidu has to say now about the city,” he added.

Explaining why he called Naidu a mental case, KCR said that Naidu as the chief minister of the combined states wanted officials to ban goats to protect forests. “Sheep are a part of the ecosystem and they existed in this world even before Naidu. Who is first goat or Naidu in evolution,” KCR said amidst laughter of the public.

The TRS chief also slammed Naidu's claim that he was instrumental in the development of Hyderabad and particularly the Hi-Tech city, which later grew into Cyberabad. “If Naidu has built the city, which has centuries of history, why he couldn’t lay a brick for Amaravti after becoming the CM of Andhra Pradesh.

"It is not right to say that it was Naidu who put the city on the international map. Naidu has done nothing but create computer-generated graphics of Amaravati in these four years,” KCR said ridiculing the slow pace of construction of AP capital.

Recalling his association with the TDP and the reasons why he launched the TRS and Telangana agitation, KCR said that Telangana MLA candidates were humiliated by the TDP. During ticket distribution, they were made to wait under hot sun at the NTR film studio in Nacharam. KCR said that as a young politician at that time he didn’t dare ask the discrimination.

“But when Naidu hiked power tariff and refused to accept my request, I didn’t hesitate any further and rest is history,” KCR said.

On Sunday, the TRS chief addressed six election rallies — Tandur, Parigi, Narayanpet, Devarakadra, Shadnagar and Ibrahimpatnam in Rangareddy and Mahbubnagar districts.
