Court orders case on Kerala min for insulting woman

A court in Kerala on Tuesday ordered police to register a case against Public Works Minister and CPM senior leader G Sudhakaran for allegedly insulting a woman.

The first-class judicial magistrate court at Ambalappuzha in Alappuzha district also directed Sudhakaran to appear before the court on March 29.

Usha Sali, who is a native of Alappuzha, alleged that the minister made insulting remarks against her in the public. The minister was showing grudge towards her alleging that she did not initiate in pooling much crowd to a public function attended by the minister, she had alleged.

Sudhakaran has courted controversy with his loose talks earlier too. Recently he made a remark targeting the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple priests by stating that the donkeys that carry goods at Sabarimala had more grace. He also remarked that priests and godmen do not wear underwear. Sudhakaran's statement that 90% of IAS officers are inefficient had also triggered protests.
