A CRPF personnel was injured when militants attacked a camp of paramilitary force in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

Reports said militants attacked with grenades and firing at the camp of the 183rd battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The CRPF men retaliated the attack and militants fled the area, it added.

However, one security personnel received a bullet injury in the incident and he was shifted to Base hospital in Srinagar, where his condition is stated to be stable.

The incident comes a day after Militants shot dead a Territorial Army (TA) man at his residence in Suhart area of neighbouring Kulgam district. Over the last three years, south Kashmir districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama have become the epicenter of new age militancy with soldiers, policemen and political workers frequently targeted by militants and mobs.
