A disabled girl was gang-raped in Jalandhar district of Punjab while she was returning home after watching Ram Leela on Tuesday. 

Some car-borne suspects drove close and kidnapped her. She was then gang-raped and later dumped alongside the road. The victim stays along with her family in Basti Peerdaad in Jalandhar.
 
Family members of the girl accused the police of initially declining to register an FIR in the case. However, after the intervention of the local councillor, Lakhbir Bajwa, the police finally registered a case on Wednesday. The victim said she was gang-raped by two men. The police said a hunt is underway to nab the accused.
