Don't need alliance with Shiv Sena, says Fadnavis
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said the time has come when the BJP does not need an alliance with the Shiv Sena. The announcement comes two days after the Sena broke the electoral understanding with the BJP in the run up to the local bodies polls.

“The BJP has arrived... we don’t need any alliance with the Shiv Sena… With the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we shall implement the agenda of progress and development... we are all out for transformation,” Fadnavis said at a party rally in Goregaon western suburbs here.

Fadnavis lashed out at the Sena, saying they were responsible for what Mumbai is facing. “They have been in power for 25 years… what has happened in Mumbai has happened in due course… but who is responsible for what has not happened,” he said to thunderous applause.

“We have made it clear that Mumbai will develop, its progress in inevitable… We shall ensure that what remained unfinished and merely on paper for the past 25 years will be implemented by the BJP,” Fadnavis said.
