Bengaluru-bound flight makes emergency landing at Kolkata Airport

A Bengaluru bound flight from Guwahati made an emergency landing at the Kolkata Airport on Tuesday. The incident took place at around 2 pm.

According to sources in the Kolkata Airport, the pilot of the aircraft of private airlines informed the AITC that he needed to make a “caution landing” as he suspected that there was some mechanical fault in the engine. He was asked by the AITC to land at the Kolkata Airport.

“There were about 100 passengers on board and all of them are safe. They were accommodated in another aircraft,” sources said. They also said that following the incident the aircraft was being inspected by engineers.
