Names of celebrities whether from the world of Bollywood or cartoons continued to appear in the merit list of colleges in West Bengal with the latest being that of famous Japanese cartoon character Shinchan Nohara.
The name of the character known for its naughty escapades appeared at the top of the BSC (Honours) merit list of Siliguri College in the northern part of the state on Monday.
According to the college authorities the name was promptly removed and a fresh list was uploaded on the website. They have lodged a complaint at the local police station terming the act as a “mischief.”
The college authorities have outsourced to an agency the task of compiling the merit list based on the details submitted by the applicants. The information will later be verified by the college authorities.
Earlier names of celebrities such as Sunny Leon and Neha Kakkar appeared on the merit lists of other colleges in the state. As amused Leon tweeted “ "See you all in college next semester!!! Hope your in my class ;) ."
