Flight operations normal at Delhi airport

Last Updated 04 January 2010, 05:23 IST

"This morning the runway visibility was more than 2,000 metres and all flight operations were normal. However there were some delays and disruptions in flight schedules because of the cascading effect of the past two days," an official at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport said.

Sixteen domestic flights, including arrivals and departures, were delayed and three were cancelled while eight international flights were delayed Monday morning, the official said.
On Saturday, over 200 domestic and international flights were badly affected because of the dense fog, causing inconvenience to passengers. About 18 flights were diverted to other cities.

This resulted in a huge backlog of flights for the airlines that spilled over to Sunday also, forcing the airlines to cancel 15 domestic and international flights and delaying 50 others.
