Flood relief donation could bring you a limerick

Last Updated 18 August 2018, 13:37 IST

Using his witty words on Twitter, a professional limerick writer named Amit Verma is hoping to help drive up donations for victims of floods in Kerala.

Verma, a columnist, has asked people to share receipts of donations made by them.

If the receipt shows that a person has donated over Rs 5,000 to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund, they are entitled to receive a personalised limerick on a subject of their choice. Verma has already uploaded over 25 such hilarious limericks.

One on the topic of 'Kerala Beef' titled 'Secret Desire' for a user named @jensondavis goes like this:

Subject: Kerala beef

SECRET DESIRE
Amit Shah was combing Modi’s hair.
He said, ‘Atalji had so much flair.
Give me one boon, my chief.
Please let me have some beef.
In this land, freedom is medium-rare.’

Another one on the subject of “Amit Shah’s beautiful flag unhoisting” for twitter user @gauravsabnis reads:

Subject: Amit Shah’s beautiful flag unhoisting

BAD AMIT
Amit went to Modi with a brag.
‘I’ve put the media under gag.’
Modi said, ‘Listen bro,
Shut your crap. Stop the show.
You can’t even hoist the nation’s flag.’

So send your receipts to Verma to get a personalised limerick on the topic of your choice.
