In a major swoop, huge quantity of gelatin sticks and detonators at Dhalghar in Mangaon tehsil of the neighbouring Raigad district.
The village - nearly 150 km from Mumbai - is located along the Mumbai-Goa route. The Raigad police has seized 46 gelatin sticks, detonators and other materials, police officials said.
Two persons have been arrested in connection with the illegal storage of the explosive material.
The accused has been booked under Explosives Act and Explosive Substances Act. The gelatin sticks were used for purposes of fishing.
