Director-General of Police B S Bassi said just as India had become a transit point for narcotics routed from the golden triangle and golden crescent, Goa, too, was a victim.
“Though the availability of drugs on the tourist coast is a matter of concern, this is not a transit point, and consumption among the local population is not a problem,” B S Bassi said.
Drugs at Sunburn?

Earlier, Home Minister Ravi Naik said he could vouch for the fact that there were no drugs available at the Sunburn music festival where the 23-year-old Meha Bahuguna collapsed of a drug overdose. Meha, who worked in Bangalore, died in a private hospital later.
The forensic report in the girl’s case was still to come, Naik said.
