Gold smuggling racket busted

Five workers of a ground handling agency at Thiruvananthapuram international airport were held on charges of helping a gold smuggling racket.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials busted the racket which was suspected to have smuggled about 100 kilogram of gold over the last six months.

A few days ago, two passengers were held while attempting to smuggle about five kilogram of gold. A probe into the case revealed that the workers used to help smuggle gold from the aircraft.
