Gujarat turns to K'taka for advice on nanotech

Last Updated 30 March 2015, 20:19 IST

Wanting to emulate Karnataka in formulating its own nanotechnology policy, the Gujarat government has decided to “learn” from the experiences of the southern state.

Besides setting aside a sizable budget allocation to initiate work in the sector, the state is inviting experts from Karnataka for knowledge sharing.

Already, Gujarat has sought the services of Bharat Ratna Dr CNR Rao, who is also the former scientific advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The Bengaluru-based Indian Institute of Science has done exceptionally well in this direction and we are going to work closely with them on nanotechnology,” an official from the state science and technology department said.
