HC refuses to quash FIR against Malabar cement MD

Saseendran and his two minor sons were found dead inside their house last month under suspicious circumstances. The Kerala High Court had last week ordered a CBI probe on a plea by Saseendran's father and wife.

Disposing the petition, Justice Thomas P Joseph said the FIR against the Managing Director Sunderamurthy shall be treated as an interim report to the first FIR. The court asked CBI to ascertain whether any offence mentioned in the FIR had been made out.

The petitioners contended there cannot be two FIRs in one crime. The first FIR was registered on Jan 25 this year and the second was based on the statement by Saseendran's wife Teena on Feb 2.

According to the FIR, Sunderamurthy was made second accused alleging commission of abetment to commit suicide.
