Here's how you can apply for an internship at Ministry of External Affairs

Last Updated 12 March 2021, 10:18 IST

India's Ministry Of External Affairs has now opened up applications for the annual internship programme for scholars. This programme will enable interns to familiarise themselves with the process of foreign policy formulation and how it is implemented by the government. The registration for the programme commenced on March 10 and will end on March 30.

Every year, the MEA offers internships in two terms of six months each. The first term begins in January and ends in June and the second term begins in July and ends in December. The ministry picks a maximum of thirty interns during each term. Each intern gets to engage for a maximum period of three months.

The MEA in a statement said, "In line with the goal of taking the Ministry and foreign policy closer to the people from all parts of the country, all efforts will be made to ensure increased diversity amongst the group of interns in each term with respect to gender, underprivileged sections, geographical domicile and representation from both urban and rural areas. Youngsters from districts under the Transformation of Aspirational Districts Programme (TADP) shall be given priority in the selection process."
