IUML upset over indecision on Rahul's Wayanad seat

Putting pressure on the Congress over Rahul Gandhi's candidature, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Saturday conveyed its concern over the delay in a decision on the grand old party president's candidature in Wayanad (Kerala).

IUML's state president Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal called the AICC leadership on Saturday and conveyed the concern, said party national general secretary P K Kunhalikutty.

The IUML, which has considerable influence in Wayanad constituency, also conveyed to the AICC leadership that the resentments being caused by the indecision over Rahul's candidature might even affect the prospects of UDF candidates.

The IUML is a key coalition partner of the Congress-led UDF in Kerala.
