JNU wins Visitor's Award

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which has been in limelight for the last one year for a series of students protest against the varsity administration on various issues, has won the annual Visitor’s Award for being the Best University of the year.

“The JNU has won the annual Visitor’s Award for the Best University, 2017,” Shamima Siddiqui, deputy press secretary to President Pranab Mukherjee, said in a statement here on Thursday.

Deepak Pant from Central University of Himachal Pradesh won the Visitor’s Award for ‘Innovation’ while the Visitor’s Award for ‘Research’ has been jointly won by Shyam Sunder from Banaras Hindu University and Niranjan Karak from Tezpur University.
