Samajwadi Party (SP) on Saturday said that there was no need for a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) to probe the Rafale deal as the matter stood closed following the Supreme Court verdict on the matter.
''We should have faith in the Supreme Court... It must have considered all the aspects of the deal before giving its judgement... There is no need for a JPC now,'' Akhilesh Yadav, SP supremo, told reporters in Lucknow.
He said that those, who still had objections to the deal, should again approach the Supreme Court.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi had made it clear after the court verdict that his party would continue to demand a JPC to probe the Rafale deal.
