KCR kickstarts poll campaign from Husnabad

Caretaker Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao launched his whirlwind campaign aimed at covering 100 Assembly segments in 50 days, from Husnabad in Siddipet district on Friday.

The TRS chief, who is a native of Siddipet kick-started his campaign from Husnabad, 133 km from Hyderabad.

KCR, who has dissolved the state Assembly on Thursday, spoke at length on the need for bringing back the TRS to power in the first public meeting.

"Vote for the Congress if you want to bring back those dark days. Vote for the TRS if you want the good work to continue, it is as simple as that," he explained an impressive crowd.

Challenging the Congress to prove the corruption charges laid on him particularly for re-engineering several projects, KCR said, "I advise the Congress leaders to go to one of the free eye testing camps organised by the government and get their eyes tested. They are colour blind."

He said that he wants the mandate to fulfil the dream of completing all long-term projects and providing irrigation to 1 crore acres of land.

Meanwhile, an all-party committee containing leaders from the Congress, TDP, BJP, CPI and the TJS have urged the Governor to withdraw the caretaker offer from the chief minister and impose Governor's rule.

They wrote to the governor that KCR on whom the Opposition have made several allegations can't be given the opportunity to run the government till a new government is sworn in.
