Kerala High Court Advocates Assn demands ex-CJI's resignation

In a resolution adopted by its extraordinary general body meeting in Kochi, the Association also wanted a high-level enquiry into the allegations. The resolution was passed after voting with a majority of the members supporting the resolution, Association sources said.

Balakrishnan's brother K G Bhaskaran resigned from his post as Government Special Pleader in the High Court while his son-in-law P V Sreenijan quit the Youth Congress membership after the allegations surfaced.

The former CJI's another son-in-law M J Benny is also facing similar charges. A vigilance probe is on against Sreenijan.
