Kerala order on property registration

 The Kerala government, on Friday, issued an order that proposed to “clear doubts” in the minds of people in connection with recommendations of the K Kasturirangan panel on environment conservation in the Western Ghats.

Through the order, the government warned stringent action against officials who refused to register property or collect taxes in areas that fall in the ecologically sensitive areas (ESA) of the Ghats.

It has come to the government’s notice that some of the officials are citing recommendations in the Kasturirangan panel report to not register property documents.
