JOIN USAll India Institute of Medical Science denied any leak of question papers after verifying the ‘papers’ allegedly recovered from the lecturer with that of the original set.
The entrance test was conducted as per schedule on Monday at 92 centres across the country for which around 45,000 students appeared for 72 seats, an All India Institute of Medical Science spokesperson said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Ghaziabad) Akhil Kumar said they detained three persons, including Meena Aggarwal, the lecturer, from her residence in Kavi Nagar area.
Later, ASP Happy Gupta said Meena Aggarwal was arrested under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code on charges of hoax and fraud after a complaint was filed against her by one Ratna Srivastava.
She will be produced in a Ghaziabad court on Tuesday, Gupta said.
Verification
Aggarwal is a resident of Ghaziabad and according to the parents of the girls, she allegedly demanded Rs 10 lakh from each person for the ‘leaked’ question papers, Kumar said.
The girls, whose identities were not revealed, were to take the entrance test on Monday.
Gupta added that the girls were later released. A team of police also rushed to All India Institute of Medical Science to verify the papers recovered.
“The information relating to paper leak is totally false. The All India Institute of Medical Science has verified it thoroughly and it has been concluded that the paper does not match with MBBS entrance exam paper of 2009 being held on June 1,” All India Institute of Medical Science spokesperson Y K Gupta said.
A senior police official said they had got an information about Meena Aggarwal allegedly trying to sell the question papers and a raid was conducted following which photocopies of “question papers” were allegedly seized from her.
