Malayalam actor ridicules Sheila on Facebook

Popular Malayalam film actor Rima Kallingal has projected a dark picture for women journalists in Kerala after the appointment of former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit as state governor.

The actor in a Facebook post, shared a newspaper clip on Dikshit’s appointment, said: “All women journalists in Kerala… Beware… You will all have to get home by 6 pm if Sheila Diskhit has her way!”

The message has gone viral on the social network with thousands sharing it even as a fierce debate commenced on the actor’s page between those who backed and slammed her view. Dikshit had warned women against being “too adventurous” while venturing out late in the night after journalist Soumya Viswanathan was shot dead in Delhi in 2008.

Rima who debuted in filmmaker Shyamaprasad’s “Rithu” in 2009 has figured in popular films, including “22 Female Kottayam”, that had her in a career-defining performance.
