A K Lohitadas, a prolific scriptwriter and filmmaker who delivered some of the all-time hits in Malayalam, died at a hospital in Kochi on Sunday following a heart attack.
He was 54.
Winner of several national and state awards, Lohitadas weaved memorable family stories. It was his association with director Sibi Malayil that produced some of the smash hits of the late eighties and nineties like Thaniyavarthanam, Kireedom, Bharatham, Kamaladalam, His Highness Abdullah and Chenkol.
Lohitadas will be cremated at his house premises at Lakkidi in Palakkad district on Monday morning.
