Indian pacer Mohammed Shami's wife Haseen Jahan was arrested after she allegedly barged into her estranged husband's home in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district, about 350 kilometres from Lucknow.

According to police sources, Haseen Jahan was arrested on charges of apprehension of breach of peace after she 'forcibly' entered into Shami's house at his ancestral village of Sahaspur Ali Nagar in the district late on Sunday night and locked herself in a room.

Shami's family members objected to her entry and allegedly tried to evict her from the house.

Sources said that the cops, who reached there after getting the information, had a tough time in bringing her out and taking her to the local police station.

"Haseen Jahan was taken into custody after she refused to leave the village... she created a ruckus there," said a senior police official in Amroha on Monday.

She was produced before a local court on Monday, which released her on bail. Her little daughter was also with her.

Haseen, however, alleged that she was "dragged" out of the bed late in the night by male cops and forced into the police van. "They (cops) misbehaved with me... I was at my husband's house... it is my right... the cops also snatched my cell phones," she alleged.

Shami and Haseen Jahan had been embroiled in a marital dispute since March last year and the matter was pending in the court. The pacer had been denied contract by the BCCI following the dispute which was reinstated after he got a clean chit.
