Last Updated 07 March 2019, 15:08 IST

Describing as "shocking" and "worrisome", the NCP on Thursday said that the documents vis-a-vis Rafale getting stolen is a matter of shame and every Indian feels cheated.

"I feel cheated... as an Indian, everyone feels cheated... it's shocking that documents are stolen from the Defence Ministry," NCP MP Supriya Sule told reporters in Mumbai.

She said that the nation deserves an answer on the issue. "The government must answer... defence minister (Nirmala Sitharaman) must answer... prime minister (Narendra Modi) anyway does not answer anything, so no point requesting.

According to Sule, whose father and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar is a former defence minister, said, "Documents of national importance getting stolen... this has never happened... 'agar defence ministry se documents chori ho rahi hai toh aam aadmi ka kaya haal hoga'.

"I don't want to politicise the issue, as it concerns national security... however... 'dal me kuch kala hai'.. .even documents cannot be stolen from my office... what has happened is a complete breach of security and the failure of the administration to prevent such breaches," she said.

Speaking on the Pulwama issue, she said: "I will like to ask humbly... what was (National Security Advisor) Ajit Doval doing."

She also said that warmongering is not good. "The family of those who had laid down their lives know, what war is. It is better the issue be resolved through dialogue," she said.
