Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and is understood to have discussed the issue of legal challenge to Article 35(A) of Constitution.
The meeting at Singh's residence lasted around 30 minutes and Mehbooba left without speaking to waiting media persons.
The Chief Minister is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and may again raise her reservations about diluting Article 35(A), that gives Jammu and Kashmir Assembly powers to define permanent residents of the state and provide special rights and privileges to them.
Her visit comes against the backdrop of a legal challenge to the Article 35(A) in Supreme Court.
On Wednesday, she called on Governor N N Vohra and discussed the issue with him.
Mehbooba had met several Opposition leaders in the state also. In Delhi, she may also meet Opposition leaders to garner support for her stand.
