A day after militants killed ruling PDP worker Muhammad Ramzan Sheikh in south Kashmir's Shopian district, his house was set on fire by a mob on Tuesday. His family, however, were rescued by the police.
Reports said that the incident happened after the last rites of a militant, Showkat Falahi, who had killed Sheikh.
Falahi was killed in a scuffle with the family members and neighbours of Sheikh, when they tried to overpower the gunmen.
Sources said that the people were angry over the killing of the militant and they set the house on fire on Tuesday afternoon.
The militants on Monday evening had killed Sheikh at Imam Sahab area of Shopian.
