Modi will never come back to power: Rahul

Last Updated 31 December 2018, 10:54 IST

Kickstarting election campaign in poll-bound Telangana, AICC President Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will never regain power after 2019 elections, as he failed to keep his promises. He said this addressing a public meeting in Bhainsa of erstwhile Adilabad.

“Modi blames us saying that Congress hasn’t done anything for poor. But he acts as a Chowkidar for the richest few in the country, not for the poor,” Rahul said. He promised that the congress which has waived farm loans to the tune of Rs 70,000 cr in the past will waive loans up to Rs 2 lakh for each farmer after coming to power in Telangana.
“While Congress treats everyone in the society with equality, Modi spreads hatred where ever he goes. Modi made you stand in queues by banning notes and gave you Gabbar Singh Tax (GST) that played havoc with the lives of the low and mid-sized businesses,” he explained.

KCR is corrupt to the core

Assuring the people of Telangana that Congress will shape a new Telangana, he alleged that the only family that benefitted from a sperate state is KCR. “When I come to Adilabad I remember the sacrifice of tribal freedom fighter Komuram Bheem who fought tribal and for freedom. We also remember Ambedkar. But KCR doesn’t like name of Ambedkar as he changed name of Ambedkar project to Kaleswaram,” Rahul said.

KCR redesigned the project escalating the cost to Rs 1 lakh crore with an intention of corruption, Rahul said. “This has a direct impact on the poor and the weaker sections of the state as that money comes from your pocket,” Rahul said. He said only Congress will protect the interests of the poor and the farmers. “After coming to power, we will implement the Land Acquisition Act in totality,” Rahul promised.

TPCC Chief Capt. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress after coming to power in Telangana will declare additional bonus to MSP for several crops. He also declared Rs 3000 dole to the unemployed youth in the state.
