Naidu sure of a clean sweep

Hopes 150 plus in the Assembly elections

Following tradition, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu offered prayers at the Tirumala temple along with his family on Saturday and addressed a public meeting at the Taraka Rama grounds in the temple town of Tirupati.

Naidu said that he is "sure of winning 150 plus seats in the ensuing Assembly elections in the state by the grace of Lord Venkateswara."

“I believe in Lord Venkateswara. He saved my life when Maoists blasted by convoy near Alipiri with a claymore mine and I survived. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi assures us that he would give us special status and a capital bigger than Delhi, in the name of the lord but gives a pot full of soil and bottle full of river water,” Naidu said.

He also questioned the wisdom of the Andhra Pradesh unit of the BJP for trying to ignite regional feelings with the help of “Rayalaseema Declaration”.

Naidu also said that the Opposition YSRCP is frustrated and bringing in new allegations every day.

Asking voters of the state to give him absolute majority and sufficient MP seats to fight for the state to counter Modi-KCR-Jagan trio, Naidu alleged that Modi is protecting “criminal” Jagan from the CBI's dragnet.

“These forces if voted will take the state into oblivion. As KCR wants a puppet in Andhra Pradesh, who will slow down growth that I have achieved despite of the troubles created by the PM,” Naidu told booth conveners during a teleconference from Amaravati on Saturday morning.

Later, Naidu flew to Srikakulam, the northern tip of the state, and began his campaign there.

He will be addressing several public meetings in four districts, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and the East and West Godavari districts. On Monday he will cover Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts. His Rayalaseema tour will start from Tuesday.
