Aaditya Thackeray meets Rahul Gandhi in Delhi

Days after the Shiv Sena skipped a meeting of opposition parties against the Citizenship Amendment Act, Maharashtra Minister and Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray on Wednesday, met Rahul Gandhi.

This was Aditya's first meeting with Rahul after the formation of the Sena-NCP-Congress government in Maharashtra to keep the BJP away from power.

The meeting between the two political scions lasted for about 30 minutes, after which Aditya had quick meetings with senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel and Jairam Ramesh.

Aditya, a Minister of Environment and Forests in the Maharashtra government, was in the national capital for attending the Raisina Dialogue and also met top officials of Facebook and Twitter on Tuesday.

During his meeting with Ramesh, a former Union Environment Minister, Aditya is learnt to have sought tips on finer aspects of running the ministry and striking a fine balance between environment protection and populist politics.

With Patel, Aditya is learnt to have discussed ways to improve coordination between the alliance partners.

Shiv Sena had skipped the opposition meet convened by Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Parliament complex on Monday, which adopted a unanimous resolution not to implement the NPR process in states which opposed the implementation of CAA.
