Senior BJP leader and union shipping minister Nitin Gadkari fainted on stage while addressing an election rally near the temple town of Shirdi in Ahmednagar district.
He fainted while he was walking towards his seat on the dais during the rally held at Rahata for Shiv Sena candidate Sadashiv Lokhande.
Top Sena and BJP leaders, including Dr Sujay Vikhe-Patil, who is a neuro-surgeon and water resources minister Prof Ram Shinde rushed towards him.
After the incident, Gadkari walked to his car and later visited the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi.
He also underwent a medical check-up and his condition was described as stable.
Gadkari had also fainted on stage during an event in Rahuri, Ahmednagar in December last year as well.
