Kamal Nath government’s sustained crackdown since December against land mafia in Indore has angered BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya so much that he publicly held out the threat to government officials on Friday “not to work as chief minister Kamal Nath’s personal servants”.

“Our Sangh (RSS) leaders are (here), otherwise (we) would have set Indore on fire today,” a livid Vijayvargiya was shown threatening officials in a video which went viral.

Based on the video, Indore police have booked the BJP general secretary along with 350 party cadres. The video was shot during a protest organised by the BJP in Residency area of Indore on Friday. Indore Superintendent of Police Mohammad Yusuf Qureshi said that the BJP leaders and workers have been booked under section 188 of the IPC.

The others booked include Indore Lok Sabha member Shankar Lalwani, MLA Ramesh Mendola and district BJP president Gopikrishna Neema.

Vijavvargiya had led the party’s protest march against what he alleged selective crackdown against BJP workers in the name of rooting out land mafia in Indore.
