Male students of a residential school in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya district, have complained to their principal that the girl students of their class often bully them and use objectionable words against them.

The boys are students of the seventh standard at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Taiyapur in the district and have written a letter to the principal requesting him to direct the girls to apologise for their behaviour.

The girl students use words like 'lalla', stupid and even have nicknames for some of the boys 'rasgulla' and 'daamar' (black asphalt)," the boys said in their letter to the principal.

The matter came to light after the letter became viral on social media platforms.

''The girls make noise in the class...they sing songs and also speak dialogues of films...when we ask them to keep quiet and behave they say aukat mein raho (stay in your limits),'' the boys said.

The boys also mentioned the names of the girls, who, they alleged, indulged in such activities. ''They (girls) must tender an apology to us,'' the boys demanded.

The principal of the school Sanjiv Gupta said that the matter was two months old. ''We had formed a team of warden and teachers to counsel the girls...the matter had ended after that,'' he said.

Gupta said that he had sought a report from the warden on the matter. ''The warden and teachers have been asked to explain why they did not intimate him about the letter,'' he added.
