COVID-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh cross 100 mark

The number of Coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh crossed 100 mark on Tuesday after a dozen more people tested positive for the virus infection in different parts of the state in the past 24-hours.

According to the official sources here, a total of 103 COVID-19 cases have so far been reported in UP. Seventeen coronavirus positive patients had recovered and were discharged from the hospitals.

Officials said that 183 people were admitted to the hospital on suspicion of having the infection. Their samples have been sent for testing.

Noida continued to top the tally of coronavirus positive cases with 38 followed by 19 in Meerut and 11 in Agra. So far the virus has spread to as many as 15 districts in the state.

UP government shunted the district magistrate of Noida late on Tuesday night after he sought three-month leave after being admonished by chief minister Yogi Adityanath at a review meeting.

Fresh cases of infection were reported from Bareilly, where five members of a family tested positive. All of them were admitted to the hospital.

Officials said that so far 2704 samples had been sent for testing of which 2519 samples were found to be negative.
