Over 700 Indians in Pakistan jails

The government, however added that it was not aware of the details of the sentence awarded to them.

“In the absence of consular access to many prisoners it is not possible to determine the details of sentences awarded (to them),” Parneet Kaur, Minister of State of External Affairs said in the Rajya Sabha while replying a question.

She also said that the government has been consistently taking up with the Pakistan government including at the highest level, the issue of Indians in custody of the neighbouring country.
