Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) is facing a leadership crisis with different office bearers of the party resigning one after the other.

The list includes core member and founding members who helped to build the party.

Many have returned to the Congress' fold.

According to sources, JCC(J) national treasurer and former Congress mayor Gajraj Pagaria has tendered his resignation.

This comes after Pagaria was reportedly assaulted physically in the premises of official residence of Ajit Jogi on Friday.

After the incident, Pagaria and one Vijay Nijwan, filed a counter complaint against each other in Civil Lines, police station.

Pagaria in his resignation letter said that he is pained by the Friday's incident, where a lower-ranked party worker had misbehaved with him.

Vidhan Mishra, JCC (J) leader and election campaign incharge, confirmed that Pagaria has put down his papers.

He denied the news of his resignation being spread through social media.

The other day, party core committee member and a two time MLA from Manendragarh, Gulab Singh left the party.

Gulab Singh re-joined the Congress by taking the party's primary membership in presence Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Koriya district, on Friday.

Jogi had declared him as the candidate for Bharatpur-Sonhat Assembly constituency.

Gulab Singh as a founder member had built the organisation in the Koriya district.

Him shifting to Congress before the polling scheduled on November 20, will give an edge to the party.
