Twelve days after the 19-year old girl was gang-raped in Haryans's Mahindergard district, police finally arrested the two main accused, including an armyman, on Sunday.
The two, army soldier Pankaj (26) and Manish, were hiding in a guest house in the district when the police teams raided the place and nabbed them.
Both are being questioned by the police.
Pankaj was posted at a unit in Kota, Rajasthan, and was on leave to his native village where he reportedly committed the crime.
The state police drew flak from various quarters all this while for the delay in arresting the accused. The main accused Nishu was arrested earlier.
The nineteen-year-old college girl from Rewari was awarded by the president for topping the CBSE board exams.
On September 12, she was abducted while she was on way to a coaching center for studies.
The accused, who were known to the victim, asked her to get inside their car so that they could drop her to the center.
She was later drugged and gang-raped by at least 12 people. The confession of the accused will determine the number of people involved in the gang-rape.
