Prakash Rai upset

Last Updated 04 June 2018, 19:43 IST

Multilingual actor Prakash Rai on Monday expressed his unhappiness on the ongoing controversy over the release of Rajinikanth’s Tamil flick Kaala in Karnataka. As pro-Kannada organisations are demanding an open apology from Rajinikanth accusing him of making derogatory remarks on Karnataka and Kannadigas during protests over the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board, the release of the movie on June 7 is still uncertain in the state.

Speaking to DH, Prakash Rai said, “I agree we are hurt. We have to express the anger. But why are they disturbing and hurting the people who are not involved in this? Who are these fringe elements to decide what people have to watch? You first let the movie release. Let the people decide whether they want to watch it or not.”

Taking on the governments for not acting against fringe elements, Rai said that a similar situation prevailed during the release of Padmavaat and S Durga.
