The angry crowds ransacked the Sonia Vihar house of Praveen Nagar, one of those accused of stabbing to death Khalsa College student Kamal Singh Rawat on Monday.

According to police, the group, including some anguished members of Rawat's family, pelted stones and ransacked the house before setting it on fire. They were angry as no arrests had been made in the case.

Police had to use force to bring the situation under control. "We have deployed a large number of policemen in the area to avoid any untoward incident. The investigation is on and arrests will made soon," a police officer said.

Four people pulled Kamal inside a car while he was waiting for a bus to go to college and beat him up with iron rods. After beating him up, they dropped him near a forested area in north Delhi and left him to bleed to death.

According to police, Kamal had a tiff with an automobile mechanic in the area over buying a motorcycle. "Kamal wanted to buy a motorcycle and had paid the money to him. But he did not get the motorcycle. There was also delay in returning the money, which led to the tiff four months ago. They again had an argument few days back," a police officer said.
