Rajasthan gives Rs 10 crore as relief to Kerala

27 members of SDRF also sent

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has extended financial help of Rs 10 crore from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the flood-ravaged Kerala.

She expressed her condolence over the deaths in the state and said she was saddened by the losses that the people sustained owing to the natural calamity which left the state of Kerala devastated.

She added that the government of Rajasthan as well as its people are with Kerala in this hour of grief.

Earlier on Saturday, a 27-member team of the State Disaster Relief Force was sent to Kerala to extend help to the flood-affected people.

The SDRF Additional Director General B L Soni told reporters, "The team was sent by a special plane along with 12 boats and it will extend all help as required to the flood-affected people. Special aircraft of the Indian Air Force left with 8 boats and 15 jawans from Jaipur and 4 boats and 12 jawans from Jodhpur to Kerala."
